WHY
MAN'S WAY OF SALVATION DOES NOT WORK:
1. None of these things will give you a divine nature.
2. None of these things will pay for your sins,
the penalty for sin is death. Someone must die for your sins.
3. None of these things will earn the perfect righteousness that God requires. That is why the Bible teaches:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not
of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy
he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of
the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3:5). |
"There
is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are
the ways of death" (Proverbs 14:12).
|
MAN
CAN'T REACH GOD, BUT GOD HAS REACHED DOWN TO MAN.
Jesus
Christ lived a perfect life. He always obeyed God's laws and
He never one time sinned. When
Jesus Christ died on the cross He paid for all of our sins.
"For
when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6, 8).
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in
the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit" (I Peter 3:18). |

If
Christ suffered and died and paid for all of your sins, how many
sins does that leave for you to pay for?
